JCCC Bird Collision Study; results of how our built environment has impacted local and migratory birds In-Person
For the last seven+ months, the JCCC Center for Sustainability under Krystal Anton’s leadership has conducted a Bird Collision Study on campus to measure how our built environment has impacted local and migratory bird populations. Come hear the results of the study thus far including species of birds impacted and locations on campus seeing higher impacts. Discussion of the study’s methodology, next steps, and potential remediation techniques will also occur. Finally, if you want to be involved in what is perhaps the most comprehensive such study in the Kansas City area, you can learn how to volunteer to assist the study going forward.
