Come hear about JCCC’s Open Petal Farm including a tour of our 3 acres of farm land and the new Aquaponics systems. In-Person
If you haven’t heard yet about JCCC’s Open Petal Farm and the college’s Sustainable Agriculture Program, now is the time to get a firsthand look at what has developed over the last 10 years on campus. Hear from enrolled students to learn about their experiences and from interns working on the farm to learn more about their work marketing produce and what they aspire to do with their education. One student presentation will focus on the importance of soil and how the farm has utilized compost created from food scraps on campus to improve the soil’s organic matter. We will also discuss the college’s commitment to local foods. Please join us to learn from our students, discuss our work, and enjoy a tour.
