Faculty Presentations: CoLab Collaborative Learning Mini-Grant Projects In-Person
In Spring 2017, several JCCC faculty members were awarded funding from the CoLab’s Collaborative Learning Mini-Grant program. In May, five of those active learning projects were completed. Attend this session in the CoLab to hear a 10-minute presentation on each project. Learn more from these innovative, collaborative faculty about what generated their ideas, how they planned and implemented their projects, and what the outcomes were for their students: Greg Dixon, English/Sustainability Media Evaluation; Jim Hopper, Web Development/Digital Media Non-Profit Service Learning; Diane Kappen, Psychology/Art History/Honors Research Study; Patrick Lafferty and Lorie Paldino, Web Content Management/Business Communications E-Portfolios; & Gretchen Thum and Mark Raduziner, Journalism and KCPT Partnership
CoLab grants support implementation and improvement of collaborative learning projects that engage JCCC students and faculty across disciplines and/or with business and non-profit community partners. The CoLab is committed to fostering an active learning environment where students and faculty can cultivate creative and critical thinking, curiosity and collaboration, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
