Was Jane Raped? Understanding How Rape Culture Impacts Us And Improving… In-Person
Overview:
"Rape Culture" is a phrase frequently thrown around, but rarely defined. Unknowingly, we often add to it by subtly silencing victims and supporting perpetrators. During this session, we will work to understand rape culture by examining real cases, identifying personal biases and looking at institutions contributing roles. Dialogue about sexual assault can produce individual changes, which can lead to a cultural shift. The words we use with victims, perpetrators and potential perpetrators matter. In order to reduce sexual violence these conversations are necessary.
